My first taste of Superdrug’s MakeUp Academy (MUA) range: apologies for the poor lighting and the fact that my eyes blatantly look tired! (They were - I had two long days at work to look forward to after a not-so-restful weekend…) Anyway, following Sheenie’s comments and fuelled, I must admit, by a nostalgia for Superdrug’s sadly missed Kolor range, I decided to give the eyeshadow range a try. The price tag of a pound per item, amazingly, was not enough to put me off. Having said that, I did want to avoid duplicating anything I already had, so I went for a grey - the one gap in my collection - and a black that was more shimmery than the one I have.
This smoky look was put (well, kind of thrown, it was a Monday morning) together by dusting MUA shade 3 over the socket area, then shade 15 on the upper lid. I applied my kohl eyeliner in a thick line on the lower lid and a thin line on the upper lashline, and blended the black shade from my Sleek Storm pallette into the crease, drawing it out so it met the outer edge of the kohl. I then dusted a bit of Barry M gold iridescent dazzle dust just under my eyebrows, just because I could. This makeup routine is useful on mornings when I wake up panicky, just for gathering a bit of composure before leaving the house…
