Disclaimer 1: I may be drunk, silly and showing my crooked tooth in the final photo, but I DO have clothes on in all of them! Specifically I have a gold-coloured strappy corset top on, and sadly the thin beigey-gold straps don’t show up so well in the photos. Disclaimer 2: the England flag is the boy’s, NOT mine… I can vouch that it is there for football purposes rather than racist ones though!
Anyway, this is the look I was rocking at a goth night a few days ago - ended up not staying too long because the boy was doing admissions stuff immediately beforehand and at stupid o’clock the next morning, but it was a good night out and I came away with a much-needed Pennangalan voucher. (Much needed = my beloved BoBos started disintegrating in earnest on the train to Oxford and are now mended in the interim with gaffa tape, ARGH) And of course I got to do gothy eyes and wear them out in public. So here goes:
Base: 17 Skin Perfecting Foundation in Fair, Sleek HideIt concealer in No1, Urban Decay eyeshadow primer potion (on eyelids and cheeks)
Eyes: Shiny white-gold highlighter from 17 compendium, Sleek DipIt in gold on lids, No7 True Gold in creases, Borjois kohl eyeliner pencil in Black and Gold*, No7 mascara, Collection 2000 Glam Glitter in OMG! around the tear ducts
Other: Sleek All That Glitters in Gold on cheekbones, 17 Antique Lace lipstick.
This is a fairly ‘light’ goth look compared to some of the black-and-red extravaganzas I’ve worn in the past, but I felt the urge to have something that could be put on and taken off relatively quickly. Also I found the gold corset top at the back of a drawer I was clearing out, and thought Intrusion would be as good a time as any to wear it!
Blogging may be a bit quiet from here to Christmas week, purely because I will be leading so much of a jet-set lifestyle (by which I mean spending as much time on trains as I do in any individual place, and also having much of my sedentary time spent marking coursework…) that I can only anticipate painting my nails once and may prefer to use something I know will last a weekend. If anyone misses me, I can be found on Twitter.
