Red nails and red pen! Would you believe it has been nearly two weeks since I last applied a dark red nail varnish? Well, measuring the time in boyfriend visits I can tell you that it has. So, although there is just the slimmest chance that I may end up doing two dark red varnish posts this week, I thought I’d post this one since I felt like getting back to classic basics after a week of messing around with orange and then grey.
Nail Varnish: MakeUp by Barbara Daly for Tesco in Envy. Yes, that’s a mouthful! (the name I mean - the product is going nowhere near my mouth, as nail-biting is something I fought hard to give up…) This was quite a good range, designed by the same person as the early Body Shop lines. And, being Teh Sco, it was also pretty cheap. It isn’t the best for non-chipping, but for a couple of days at work that doesn’t matter so much. This polish is the only one I own from the range, if I’d known it was going to be discontinued I would have got more of them. It is unusual for being an orangey dark red. Of course it is nowhere near as orange as what I had on the other day, but it is still that little bit different from anything else I have. It has a slight shimmer but no actual glitter, which suits me fine since I need to be a bit businesslike to get through the rest of the week.
Pen: of the refillable variety, bought in a January sale a few years ago. Probably the best one I’ve ever had, but it is currently languishing in the sick bay (on the shelf above my desk) waiting to have the dried ink cleaned out of its nib so it will work again. I’m afraid I disturbed its hibernation by demanding it feature in a nail photo, but the colours are such a great match that I couldn’t resist!
