Sneakily blingy nails for my boy’s graduation! (scheduled to post when I’m actually there…)

Main nail colour: Barry M 1A (never mind boring names, I’ve had this one since before the products had any names…)

Tips (not showing up in photos): 17 Ruby Dazzle

Gem: random nail art kit from a discount store in Norwich.

To be honest the Ruby Dazzle would probably have looked fairly respectable alone if it could be relied upon not to chip and peel and wear in the space of an afternoon! Sadly, going on my past experience of trying to wear it for a weekend, it can’t. So I called upon what I think of as the ‘original’ Barry M dark red, which has the added bonus of being hitherto unblogged. It is ‘original’ in that it is the first one I owned, (not the first dark red, but the first BM one and possibly the first BM polish I’ve ever had!) but it strikes me as containing something of the essence of what a dark red nail varnish should be. Poncy, me? Anyway, this polish occupies the middle ground between Raspberry and (not yet blogged) Black Red, but it certainly isn’t middle of the road. It looked like a different shade under each light in my flat. There are other red items queuing to be in these photos, but I let my new pjs push in just out of laziness!
