Neutral work face part deux: the base.
Foundation: 17 Skin Perfecting in Fair
Blusher: 17 Bramble Frost
These aren’t the most interesting photos I’ve posted here (unless you find my face intrinsically interesting, which is basically my boyfriend’s job and he doesn’t read this anyway), but they do represent a little triumph. My skin tends to be very pale, with red patches if exposed to the elements for too long. Foundation often looks orange, or failing that invisible to the point where there is no, well, point. Blusher just looks clownish a lot of the time. I have already bought one ‘winter’ foundation and given it away because it was too dark. Having said that, I still thought 17 was a good bet since historically their products have come the closest to matching my skin. I was impressed with this foundation from the outset - it applies easily, doesn’t leave smeary patches, blends well and somehow manages not to give me spots when worn all day.
It is typical of my complexion that the best blusher fit I could find had ‘Frost’ in the name. Again, it was the palest one 17 had, and again 17 seemed the most suitable out of all my ‘normal’ brands. Still, I was dreading trying to apply this, so had to give it a dress rehearsal at home first. At that time - the start of September or the end of August, with me in good health and raring to go - it was an exact match for my skin. This means it will hopefully have some ability to make me look vaguely alive later on in the term!
