NB this was initially posted a day or so ago but the scheduled posting business managed to mess up spectacularly! There’s only so much editing I have the energy to do though.

17 Night Pool (not ‘night poo’) eyeshadow and Wonderland sheer shine eye creme.

This might not be the best week for me generally, so I decided to distract myself this morning by finding an eyeshadow match for the 17 Peacock nail varnish I blogged about before. There are several products I could try, but I think this morning’s effort will do for now. I’ve used both these products before, but can’t remember having tried them together, mainly I think because they’re too similar to be worn without anything else. You’ll see in the first three pics that it is difficult to distinguish one from the other. Night Pool was part of one of the best free gift sets 17 has had - it was designed by Eley Kishimoto and came in the most beautiful packaging, along with a tiny mirror (I always need those), a minty-tasting pink lipgloss and a little black mascara with cobwebs on the tube that turned out to be really excellent quality but sadly not part of 17’s usual stock even without the pretty package. Wonderland is one that I bought because there was a 3-for-2 on and I was wearing a green dress for my work’s dinner the next evening. It lives up to the ‘sheer’ part of the name, though, so I tend to use it as a highlighter rather than on its own. Today, I applied Wonderland around the socket (fairly conservatively - I didn’t smear it up to my eyebrows like I would with something more neutral!), and then NP on or just outside the lid. At this stage things were still pale green. This is when I took most of the photos in the slideshow, as I wanted to show the featured products before they were covered up. I decided it needed to be darkened and blue-d up a bit, so I applied the dark metallic aqua from my Collection 2000 blue trio on the lid and in the crease. Just for fun (and because I won’t get away with as much or have as much time after this) I winged it out a bit at the corners. It made a pretty good match with my nails, as shown in the picture with my hand in. (No I am not scratching my own eyes out!) I finished it off with black eyeliner (smaller flick than usual in deference to work) and mascara, but didn’t bother taking a photo of those this time.

I wore this for a coffee reception for new postgrads. It went ok. Today was knackering, which I don’t feel like going into, but suffice it to say I have finished my chocolate stash and it is only my peacock-and-silver home manicure that prevents me starting on my fingernails! See, perfectly practical…
