Superdrug Swiss Apple skincare
FYI, for the time being I can’t upload pictures as my internet connection has decided to eat bandwidth at twice the original rate, so the pretty pics of various eyes and nails (and the odd lip) will have to wait until that problem gets fixed somehow or other. If anyone wants to suggest a payg internet plan that does actually support the odd photo upload without emptying, that would be great....

Superdrug cherry and fig shampoo/raspberry and...
Sorry, no pics for this one, my hair is overdue a dye and the bottles themselves are pretty boring. Anyway, I’m always on the lookout for decent shampoo, and since moving to Scotland (which has soft water) volume has been an issue. The first time I washed my hair here with the shampoo I’d been happily using before, it was totally lank after a couple of days.
Here’s the rundown!

Dear MAC, way to be tactless to the point of...
I have no general axe to grind with MAC. They don’t test on animals, they’re relatively eco-friendly insofar as cosmetics can be. I’ve heard variable stories about the quality of their products. I don’t buy them because they cost about three times what I’d spend on any given item. I could have been tempted to spend the money if I’d had it. Could have. The fact...

Blogging...
I will get back to posting photos soon, although I’m thinking of keeping it to once a week - I’ve worked my way through most of my stash, can’t afford to buy more, and don’t have much time to go out so not as many cool looks being created for now… Anyway, blogging. I’m possibly the last one to come in on this, so don’t need to give too much detail, but...

Gah
In case anyone was wondering, I am still alive. I’ve been going through a ‘difficult’ patch - my grandmother died a couple of days before I came back to work, I got to my flat last w/end to find that the boiler had gone out and won’t re-light and I am still without heating for various convoluted reasons relating to who can fix what and what else they have in their priority...

Red nails, redux
I’m not going to have much chance to make proper posts, so here’s a look back at the various reds that have graced my nails (and the various lengths my nails have been!) since I started this blog in late summer! I may do this for other colours and products, but this is the longest list…

Good and bad things
More pretty pics soon I promise! In the meantime, here are a few (beauty-related) things that rock and a few that suck this festive season:
Rock:
-Superdrug Vitamin E skin oil - the one thing keeping my face hydrated this month when all else has failed!
-Tesco Finest ginger bath cream
-Sparkly dark red nails - I have quite a selection, some of which have yet to be blogged!
-No7 Protect and...

Testing times
There are so many cosmetic companies out there that don’t test their products on animals. I am not ranting about the ones that do - if you know me, even vaguely, that will go without saying, although the existence of such a wide variety of non-animal-tested products implies that it would be perfectly doable for the rest to stop! - but rather the ones that don’t but are quiet about it....

Prepare to dye!
So about a month ago I posted about part of the price that I pay for my goth goddess status - namely, the need to faff around with black hair dye! Since then I have had no opportunity to do more to my hair than keep it clean and brushed, meaning that every break on my work-at-home day today is spoken for.
For the sake of any hair dye virgins out there, this is what I do to get ready for coating...

The Sophie Lancaster Foundation
As this duck is more of a goth than anything else, I feel the need to spread this around. Recently Helen and Mizz Worthy both blogged about new efforts by the Sophie Lancaster Foundation to raise awareness of, and subsequently stamp out, prejudice against subcultures. Sophie was a goth. Today is her birthday. She isn’t celebrating because, nearly two years ago, she was murdered purely for...

Nail care filler post
Hmm, so I’m trying to grow my nails a bit and resist the urge to cut them short at the first sight of flakage. I will probably never go to the same lengths (pun intended) as Helen and Diana, as lovely though their nails look it would not be practical for the work I do or the ways I spend my spare time. However, I like they way they look when they are a bit longer than usual, and I have a few...
